Here at UK tents we offer a vast range of marquees from as little as 3m x 4m to our current largest marquee at a staggering 8m x 20m. Every single one of our marquees is waterproof, UV resistant and has been intricately designed to allow as much natural lighting to come though the windows as possible. Below is a brief description on our sections to help you have more of an understanding of our products.

Lateral height

Lateral height is the height of the window. At UK tents we offer two different sizes of windows on our marquees, these being 2m and 2.6m. Having Large windows along each side of our marquees comes with many benefits;

More natural lighting is able to come through. This is a huge plus in summer allowing for daytime events to feel far more open and less enclosed. Additionally, the natural lighting helps reduce electricity costs during the day.

PE Tarpaulin material

Marquees made with this material are high strength and waterproof whilst being a lot lighter and easier to set up than other’s in the range. We recommend our PE marquees for smaller and shorter duration events and are ideally suited to occasional use.

Professional Range

Our professional range marquees are perfect for any scenario and have many features that allow them to be part of our professional marquee range. The material in these tents are extremely robust as well boasting a noticeably thicker frame, with a base frame and additional roof reinforcements.

Similarly, to all our other marquees, they are all perfect all-weather structures and have been designed with flexibly in mind to allow the entrance and exit to be constructed on any side of its’ walls.

We would ask a series of basic yet fundamental questions which would really guide us to understand your needs and help you decide marquee is best suited for your needs. Below are 6 questions we suggest you think about when buying a marquee:

• Will the marquee be set up on soft (i.e., grass) ground or a hard surface?
• Do you intend to leave it up for an extended period or break it down and store it after each event?
• How much space do you have for the marquee?
• Is this for a private/personal or commercial (e.g., storage, hospitality) use?
• How many people will need to be accommodated?
• What is your budget?

Alongside our filter system we have also given our customers the ability to view our products in price order, this is to help you locate the marquee you need at a comfortable price.

UK Tents advise you to measure the area you intend to install the Marquee – When selecting a marquee, we advise you to leave at least a quarter of a meter around the structure to allow access for construction and break down. This space will also help you to secure the marquee using pegs, weights, or our storm protection kits. If there is space outside the marquee (especially if using one of our smaller tents) then you can always utilise this for storage of drinks (perhaps in ice buckets or tubs) etc. In our experience this will ensure that the event will run smoothly.

The next consideration is to keep an eye on the weather – On the day of installation if high winds are likely you may wish to consider either a storm kit or (if not feasible) weights on each of the legs – sand bags or water weights may not be the most attractive addition to a marquee but it can prevent damage to the tent structure and perhaps injury to a guest. If you are unsure the best way to secure your marquee get in touch with us and we can advise you in any scenario (Our tents have been used for pretty much everything!)

Certainly, if the marquee is going to be left in place for an extended period, then a storm kit is an essential investment.

Whilst we would always recommend purchasing the highest-grade version that your budget can meet the following general principles hold true.

For regular commercial use – especially in a hospitality setting, where it'll be used day in, day out then the Professional grade marquee is a must – fire resistant PVC heavy duty material and a 2.6m lateral height (4m to the roof apex) is both practical and impressive. The largest is a massive 8m by 20m – can comfortably house up to 320 people standing, 229 "cinema style" seated or 27 tables along with other necessary furnishings – as such it will cater for most sizeable events and is the marquee of choice for golf clubs, pubs, hotels and wedding venues.

Occasional commercial use, where frequent assembly and disassembly is not an issue then the premium grade may be the better option; It's lighter meaning less labour is needed, on the larger sizes the lateral height is 2 meters which is 0.6 meters shorter making the marquee more compact without compensating on space, it's cheaper than the professional and you still have ground bar and fire resistance with our Premium range.

For the larger private event – If you are looking for a party tent to use all through the year where you won't use it for longer than a few weeks at a time our PVC Classic range could be the way to go. Still a robust structure and 500g/m2 PVC tarpaulin this range is perfect for regular short term use.

Where budget is an issue or where a lightweight version is needed (so that it compacts down for ease of storage for example) then look to our classic PE range. Our PE marquee frame is made from galvanised steel and has 180g/m tarpaulin making it a great option for any private event.
