We are getting many calls regarding the The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and we are expecting an influx in sales. Millions of people across the UK will be attending street parties to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Queens coronation. The celebration will start from June 2nd and will continue over the weekend until June 5th.
Tips to Decorate A Marquee
Getting the theme right is arguably the key to any successful party. Each event should be decorated differently for example to create a great atmosphere for a wedding could be completely different to other occasions.
Here are some suggestions when decorating your party tent for the Queen’s jubilee:
- Bunting
- Balloons
- Marquee Lining
- Centrepiece’s
- Flowers
- Festoon Lighting
Street Parties – This is proving a very popular way to celebrate and it’s also a great opportunity to bring communities together. You will have to be aware on the rules and regulations regarding structure permission. UK Tents have written a blog called Marquee Use – Rules and Regulations where we explain all you need to know. A small pub chain wanted to have their own street party in London to celebrate the success of Britains 2012 Olympic team. The marquees looked stunning and the pub managed to increase profits by having more tables. I managed to catch up with the owner and asked him if he would recommend having a UK Tent marquee for a street party…
First of all I would like to say Abby from UK Tents was a complete superstar! Nothing was too much trouble and delivery was under 24 hours. We handed out Mo Farrah masks, glow sticks and just had a huge party… It was amazing. I would really recommend UK Tents as a company and the marquee quality is 10 out of 10.

When having a street party you should be aware of is noise pollution and according to the World Health Organization, sound levels less than 70 dB are not damaging to living organisms, regardless of how long or consistent the exposure is. Exposure for more than 8 hours to constant noise beyond 85 dB may be hazardous. If you work for 8 hours daily in close proximity to a busy road or highway, you are very likely exposed to traffic noise pollution around 85dB. According to www.gov.uk the times you have to be aware of is as follows:
The warning notice must tell the recipient:
- that the noise is coming from the premises between 11pm and 7am
- that the noise exceeds, or may exceed permitted levels as measured from within the complainant’s dwelling
- that the noise must be reduced to below the permitted level in a specified period (this must be at least 10 minutes after the notice is served and must end by 7am)
- what time the notice is issued
