UK Tents have designed a range of marquees for professional and domestic use. Our clever design is perfect for an amateur who has never built a marquee before and it also has the high quality needed for a professional marquee hire company. In this blog we will explain how easy it is to build a UK Tent marquee and give you expert advise so you can achieve the best results in different scenarios.
Marquee Assembly in 5 Easy Steps
All of our party tents include an easy to follow manual and our team of experts are always to hand if you have any questions. Here we have listed 5 simple steps as a guideline to get you started:
- Set up the roof frame
- Put on the roof tarpaulin
- Attach poles on one side and then the other
- Attach side and gable panels
- If necessary, secure the tent with tent pegs, guy ropes or additional weights.
In the past we have had many calls from customers who have tried to build our marquees in other ways. We have built marquees for over 15 years and our 5 step method is by far the best way to construct our party tents. The 4th point we mentioned the moment you “Attach side and gable panels” as you can see in the picture below this is discretionary as you can choose which sides you would like to add.
Erecting a Structure in Bad Weather
The first thing we advise is to check the weather forecast, our advice is to avoid erecting any structure in winds over 30mph. Building your marquee in bad weather means extra precautions are needed such as adding weight, strapping it down and if going on grass extra strong ground stakes.
-
x1 Strong Ground Stake£16.99 inc. VAT
-
Storm Protection Kit (hard ground)£119.99 inc. VAT
-
Storm Protection Kit (soft ground)£119.99 inc. VAT
It’s important to remember these are temporary structures designed for regular short term use and NEVER erect a marquee without securing it with one of the above methods. We wrote an article on how marquees could be used for the winter season which you might want to take a look at called: Are Marquees Suitable For The Winter?
If you are erecting a marquee in good weather the exact same precautions should be taken. A strong wind came come from nowhere causing damage or even worse a serious injury.
What Tools Do I Need?
UK Tents supply everything you need to build a marquee and no tools are needed. Our nut and bolt system is incredibly strong and by far the easiest way to build a marquee. We will NOT manufacture a click in system marquee and strongly advise buying them for a long term investment.
If you have never built anything like this before our PE marquees could be the answer. Once again using our bolt system the structures are very strong but the PE range has 200g/m tarpaulin, which is lighter and easier to build. Our professional range use the same easy building concept but it is a heavier and will require more people to construct.
One key piece of advice – Don’t build the marquee on the day you are using it. Make sure you leave plenty of time especially if you haven’t done this before. When you become more experienced you will become quicker at installing your marquee and of course we are always available to advice by calling: 01234 233 234
